Transitions In: Transitions Out

Thursday 30th - Friday 31st October, 2008
Hosted by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Kelvin Grove Campus

Academic staff are invited to engage colleagues with the policies, procedures and practices related to ‘transitions into’ university and ‘transitions out’ into professional practice (encompassing the academic professional practice of research) including:

Enhancing the transition of commencing students into university

Enhancing the employability capabilities and confidence of students as they prepare to transition into new professional environments

Embedding and institutionalising good practice strategies for helping students:

Engage with their learning
Engage with their profession
Access appropriate academic and professional support mechanisms
Acquire a sense of belonging including social integration into university and into their profession

This conference is particularly targeted to academic teaching staff from the three sponsoring universities, and the Queensland regional universities. Those interested in teaching and learning in higher education from administrative and support areas are also welcome to attend.
